The yellow-billed oxpecker, commonly found in the savannahs of Western Africa, pick ticks and other insects off of a variety of different mammals. This picture was taken by Billy Dodson in Ndutu Conservation Area in Tanzania. It’s really a great capture and apparently the giraffe didn’t mind that the bird was cleaning its mouth of ticks and parasites. Enjoy the pictures!
